how do you
 like being
  lied to?

.. I've observed some people ...

  .. getting amazingly angry ...

    .. on discovering deceit

Thesis/Subtitle 1: trusting is good, checking is better?

Thesis/Subtitle 2: the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth

Corollary 1: IF someone is worthy of trust THEN you don't need to check - BUT hell hath no fury like a person betrayed[1].

Corollary 2: No worthwhile project deploys deception, nor tries to hide behind lies.

Preamble: 'They' (some amorphous and/or anonymous 'authority,' with or without remit) maintain that we (Anglo/Judaic/'the West') live in democracies, 'the worst form of government, except for all those other forms that have been tried ...' Recall that Churchill was a politician AND that "All politicians lie!" - thanks, but "No, thanks!" to Howard. More on this on the way.

Now, it is easy enough to prove that our democracies are not working properly (massive understatement), see repeat of preamble to my "full-spectrum dominance" as lemma[5] below. Specifically here, when we (the people = voters) are lied to, it is done to deceive us, and deceived voters may not make properly informed decisions. Thus IF lied to (by representatives, our so-called 'leaders') THEN the democratic covenant is broken AND the transfer of sovereignty from the people to the representatives becomes 'inoperative' = the leaders lose any mandate = any/all subsequent action by such leaders = illegitimate.

This has serious consequences; illegitimately derived law is also inoperative and may not be enforced, taking taxes = theft, spending such stolen money = fraud - and starting any war becomes a war crime for lack of authority to do so.

NATO Proxies Turkey and Saudi Arabia Move to War Footing on Eve of Syrian ‘Peace Summit’
by Finian Cunningham
June 28, 2012
«The NATO-backed covert aggression against Syria could be reaching a tipping point for all-out war involving state forces. That should be no surprise. For the past 16 months, NATO and its regional proxies have been steadily increasing the violence and turmoil inside and outside Syria, while the Western corporate-controlled media maintain the ridiculous fiction that the bloody chaos is largely due to the government forces of President Bashar Al Assad cracking down on “peaceful protesters”.»
[globalresearch/Finian Cunningham]

Comment; Note the words: "the Western corporate-controlled media maintain the ridiculous fiction" - look up the word 'fiction' and find that it means "non-factual" which in the 'news' context = lies. But we know that.

World powers reach agreement on Syria transition
Middle East correspondent Anne Barker, wires
Updated July 01, 2012 10:22:38
«Meanwhile, fighting in Syria has only intensified in recent weeks as both government and opposition forces have received more weapons from their foreign backers.

[me: this admits to outside interference; bonus = now Barker can't ignore it]

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights warned of a "catastrophic humanitarian situation" in besieged Douma, which "has been subjected to a fierce military campaign since June 21."

[me: the 'Syrian Observatory for Human Rights' is a one-man operation based in London - based on reports, basically a propaganda conduit]

Violence has killed "scores and wounded hundreds" there since regime forces escalated attacks on the outlying suburb of Damascus, the group said.
"More than 100 families remain in the town, unable to flee and forced to take refuge in shelters," it said.»

[AusBC/Barker]

Comment: The story we get is always the same: rebels (mostly) good, Assad (wickedly) bad. Also, standard scare tactics: "Massacre! Help! NATO must bomb, invade, kill!"

Contradictory article:

Carr urges Russia to back Syria peace plan
Posted July 01, 2012 13:49:40
«Senator Carr says Russia plays a crucial role in moving towards peace.
"At the Friends of Syria meeting to be held in Paris this Friday, I'll be stressing that we won't have a peaceful transition in Syria in practical terms without support from the Russians," he said.
"This is an opportunity for Russia to show its world leadership, to show that it is responding to the deep humanitarian concerns about what is happening in Syria.
"The world is moving, there is talk about a transition plan."»

[AusBC/'news']

Comment: The 1st AusBC article headline = "reach agreement" contradicts Carr's pretentious prattle. I'm unaware of how anyone may force a 'transition plan' onto a sovereign government. "There is talk" = some sort of joke?

Explanatory = 'Ah-ha!' article:

WhoWhatWhy.com
How the Corporate Media is Snookering You on Syria
The hijacking of the Arab Spring has been aided by a media that airs propaganda on Syria.
By Russ Baker
June 28, 2012
«The Times article goes on to say that the US is not providing arms but that US allies - particularly Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar - are. What it neglects to mention is that the US provides arms to these allies, and all but tells these countries what to do with those arms. The trick: Washington uses these intermediaries in order for the US to say that it is not involved in overthrowing the Assad regime.
...
The fact that the United States government, and notably a Democratic administration, is waging war against another government through surrogates is a really, really big deal. Yet our media - almost all of it, Left, Right and Other - walks in lockstep with a shared dubious narrative of an essentially spontaneous uprising being crushed by a ruthless government and of a West helping “the people” purely for humanitarian purposes.»

[alternet/Russ Baker]

Comment 1: This one should be read in its entirety, and note: some content is 'contentious,' and some possibly not exactly correct? But read it anyway.

Comment 2: What is well explained = a strong possibility, is why the NYT admitted that the CIA was actively assisting the anti-Assad, partly alien-invader insurgents. Tip: Psyop, keywords “Limited Hangout.”

Final = 'Boo-hoo' article:

Syrians brand Geneva crisis talks a failure
Updated July 02, 2012 00:27:57
«Both official Syrian media and an opposition group have branded a world powers deal on a transition plan for the country as a failure.»
[AusBC/'news']

Comment 1: One 'opposition group' hardly counts, we are told there many, about 100+/-. But nevertheless, just as in Libya the opposition is more interested in mayhem than talking, and the language indicates no-one in Syria appears interested, let alone feels bound. So just what did the 'great powers' decide?

Comment 2: What ever way one looks at it, the (corrupt&venal) MSM + PFBCs are *not* conveying facts so much as propaganda; that the propaganda is both pro-war and 'not exactly true' makes it lying, psyop propaganda and those conduiting *and actively assisting* are a) presstitutes and b) criminal.

Comment 3: What ever reason the US/NATO/F+UK + any other SQSHsO give for terrorising, attacking, smashing and killing, it's not the true reason - which is invariably some variation on murder for spoil.

-=*=-

Fazit: Whether you like being lied to or not is a mere bagatelle when compared to the US/Zs target population's suffering. Roll out the tumbrels.

-=*end*=-

PS As if smashing small countries wasn't bad enough;

«When almost no media anymore question these barely disguised coups against uncooperative standing governments, we are in very deep trouble. Because if we can’t count on the media to tell us what is going on in far-off places, what may we expect of them closer to home? We are witnessing a crisis for journalism that is nothing less than a crisis for democracy itself.»
[alternet/Russ Baker ibid.]

Comment: What I said.

-=*=-

PPS Of course, what the US/Zs are doing - murdering for spoil; US for oil, Zs for soil - is illegal, and anyone who aids criminals also make themselves criminal by the 'accessory' mechanism.

Turkey scrambles jets on Syrian border
Updated July 02, 2012 11:25:09
«Turkish prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan insisted the jet fighter shot down by Syria last month was in international airspace, dismissing a United States newspaper report that it was downed inside Syria as untrue.»
[AusBC/'news']

Comment 1: Well may the MSM lie, but in this case, I doubt it. “You think that the airplane was there by mistake?” one [former US] official said. Original story here(wsj); a Murdoch rag. But as liars for criminal causes, the MSM + PFBCs make themselves accessories = guilty.

Comment 2: We see how far Erdogan has fallen; from an honourable foreign policy of not aggravating neighbours, to outright attacking them - make no mistake, that's what the 'jet fighter' imbroglio was. Not to mention conduiting invaders and matériel. Sleep with dogs, get fleas; Erdogan et al. = all such SQSHsO and the MSM + PFBCs are lousy with them.

^ Update, 21:31; An AusBC(BBC) lie? ...

The AusBC "Syrians brand Geneva crisis talks a failure" article contains this:

«In the single most serious incident, mortar fire killed 30 civilians at a funeral in the town of Zamalka, 10 kilometres east of Damascus, the Britain-based watchdog said.»

The AusBC "Turkey scrambles jets ..." article contains this:

«A day earlier, mortar fire killed at least 30 civilians attending a funeral in the town of Zamalka, 10 kilometres east of the capital.»

A BBC article "UN envoy calls for transitional ..." contains this:

«Meanwhile, activists said a funeral procession in a suburb of Damascus came under mortar attack and 30 people died.
The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights released amateur video footage claiming to show the explosion in Zamalka, a town 10km (six miles) east of the Syrian capital.»

Whereas an LATimes article "In Syria, at least 85 killed by car bombing at funeral" contains this:

«At least 85 people were killed when a car bomb exploded during a funeral procession Saturday evening in the Syrian town of Zamalka, activists and human rights groups said.»

This 'difference of opinion' was reported by Felicity Arbuthnot's article “Her Majesty's BBC's Syria Coverage: "Sorry for the Lies"...” I looked for videos, there are an impressive number - About 1,330 results. Each of the Western press articles blame Assad forces in one way or another, as do the videos I checked. Assuming Assad is not mad, mortaring or car-bombing his own people is *not* what he should be doing - but those attacking the Assad govt. have every reason to cause mayhem, and the same sort of allegations were made in Libya - now a smoking ruin. Perhaps you can work out what's going on.

^ Update 3Jul'12; A possible antidote for any doubters:

Those who tend to believe what the (corrupt&venal) MSM+PFBCs serve up (recalling that 'belief' is often done in a dearth of *factual* evidence) - may care to read this, an apparently 'balanced' summary from Judy Bello, thnx. Pay special attention to neoliberalism (the already-rich getting obscenely richer(1%), largely at the cost of the hapless rest (99%)), and to resources (aka spoil, as in 'mass-murder for'), here soil (IL) & water (IL+TR).

[1] "Heaven has no rage like love to hatred turned, Nor hell a fury like a woman scorned" [Congreve]

[2] democracy  n. (pl. -ies) 1 a government by the whole population, usu. through elected representatives. b State so governed. 2 classless and tolerant society. [Greek demokratia rule of the people] [POD]

[3] lie2  -n. 1 intentionally false statement (tell a lie). 2 something that deceives. -v. (lies, lied, lying) 1 tell a lie or lies. 2 (of a thing) be deceptive.  give the lie to show the falsity of (a supposition etc.). [Old English] [ibid.]

[4] propaganda  n. 1 organized propagation of a doctrine by use of publicity, selected information, etc. 2 usu. derog. ideas etc. so propagated.  propagandist n. & adj. propagandize v. (also -ise) (-zing or -sing). [Latin: related to *propagate] [ibid.]

[5] Lemma:

1. Lying is a pre- & post-requisite to crime; lies are deployed to deceive, deception is done with malice-aforethought and after any crime, the perpetrators have to lie to avoid self-incrimination. There is no such thing as a 'harmless' lie.

2. It is easy to prove that 'our' democracies (our = Anglo (US, UK, Aus), Judaic = IL, 'the West' adds D, F and other SQSHsO = snivelling quisling sycophantic hangers-on) - are sham; of three pre-requisites (fully and honestly informed voters, sufficiently wide choice of candidates, elected representatives who implement the will of the majority while protecting minorities) - we fail all three.

3. It is easy to see that we have no worthwhile 'rule of law,' since the UN whose founding purpose was to prevent war, dismally has not - in fact quite the opposite (from UNGA181 (subsequent improper dispossession of Palestinian land/property via genocidal methods - thanks, but "No, thanks!" to the Zionists), down to 2001+ = aggressive invasions of Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya and Syria (current moment), Iran (probably next in the US' target-list)). Also (fundamental), note that only just law may earn respect - one 'best' (= worst) example, 'war on drugs.' Adequate data exists to prove decriminalisation gives a *much* better, possibly the best result.

End lemma.
