Petraeus Quits; Evidence of Affair Was Found by F.B.I.
By MICHAEL D. SHEAR
«WASHINGTON - David H. Petraeus, the director of the Central Intelligence Agency and one of America’s most decorated four-star generals, resigned on Friday after an F.B.I. investigation uncovered evidence that he had been involved in an extramarital affair.
Mr. Petraeus issued a statement acknowledging the affair after President Obama accepted his resignation and it was announced by the C.I.A. The disclosure ended a triumphant re-election week for the president with an unfolding scandal. »

Petraeus follows a similar path set by McChrystal:
McChrystal out; Petraeus picked for Afghanistan

«WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama sacked his loose-lipped Afghanistan commander Wednesday, a seismic shift for the military order in wartime, and chose the familiar, admired - and tightly disciplined - Gen. David Petraeus to replace him. Petraeus, architect of the Iraq war turnaround, was once again to take hands-on leadership of a troubled war effort.»

Comment 1: Note "tightly disciplined."
Comment 2; Q: Which is worse, can't keep a mouth shut or a fly zipped?
Here's another McChrystal quote:
Gen. McChrystal: We've Shot 'An Amazing Number Of People' Who Were Not Threats
Justin Elliott | April 2, 2010, 3:09PM
«In a stark assessment of shootings of locals by US troops at checkpoints in Afghanistan, Gen. Stanley McChrystal said in little-noticed comments last month that during his time as commander there, "We've shot an amazing number of people and killed a number and, to my knowledge, none has proven to have been a real threat to the force."»
[talkingpointsmemo/Elliott]
Comment 1: Petraeus' former 'boss' keeps a 'kill list' which designates who they will drone to death next. Drones are estimated to have a 'kill-ratio' of ~2% (supposed = alleged, i.e. not brought to trial, let alone convicted of anything) militants vs. 98% innocent 'collateral' victims killed.
Comment 2: These are some of the people running our world.
Comment 3: The wars they are running; Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, currently Syria with Iran next - are Nuremberg-class illegal resource-wars = mass-murdering for spoil. Gallows.

the FBI bugged the CIA

What is not explained, anywhere that I have so far looked, is how this could happen at all; how the FBI could bug the CIA in the 1st place, but worse; having done so, how anyone could allow the shit to hit the fan - in such a disastrous way. Imagine taking such a story to your boss... It means that it was escalated, all the way to 'the top' - then they went ahead; the FBI pissing all over the CIA. Ve-e-ery fishy, if you ask me. Q: What's being hidden?
ReplyDeleteWhat is truly amazing is that for 37 years long, he has been toeing the empire-line, is personally responsible for perhaps thousands of innocents killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, but now goes into disgrace for sleeping with a woman not his wife?

I've read 'em; you could too - to gather some fresh info, make up your own mind?
Not so BTW, one could consider the collaterals; the 'lady' herself, the spouses and kids. That a military killer falls into disgrace and is sacked due to an extramarital affair is - IMHO - utterly ludicrous, given the number of people killed = possibly over 1.4mio Iraqis and 4,801 US soldiers in Iraq, 'coalition' forces dead in Afghanistan: 3,223 [figures from ICH], over 1000 US troops just in Petraeus’ Iraq surge.
